Indianapolis, IN - October 2024Carolina, a leading manufacturer of healthcare furniture, proudly announces the launch of the Offshore sleepover sofa, designed to enhance the hospital experience for patients’ guests, and caregivers. In partnership with the innovative team at Achella Design, the Offshore sleepover sofa and pull-up table seamlessly blend comfort, durability, and modern aesthetics to meet the demanding needs of hospital environments.

Rest confidently with Offshore sleepover sofa

The Offshore sleepover sofa was created by Achella Design, a multidisciplinary studio led by the collaborative team of Chris, Alyssa, and Jon Panichella. While specializing in furniture and graphic design, Achella Design has helped clients find solutions across diverse industries—from medical devices to retail and exhibit design.

“A patient room sleepover sofa isn’t just a place to get some rest, it also serves as the user's temporary workspace, closet, and bedside table for the duration of their loved one's hospital stay, said Achella Design. “Designing Offshore to be amenity-rich, to support the user's individual needs was important to us.”

Offshore’s forward-thinking design contributes to a calming and welcoming atmosphere within hospital rooms, which can be crucial during stressful times. The sofa offers supportive solutions for guests and caregivers who need to remain close to patients, providing a comfortable space to rest, work, and keep personal belongings. By addressing the multifaceted needs of users, Offshore ensures that those supporting patients have the amenities they need to stay connected and comfortable during critical moments.

Engineered with a soft, hygienic sleep surface made from polyurethane-coated fabric, the Offshore sleepover sofa is built to withstand the rigors of constant use while providing maximum comfort. Recognizing that a patient room sofa serves multiple purposes, Achella Design infused the product with amenity-rich features to support users' individual needs throughout their loved one's hospital stay.

"We are incredibly excited to introduce the Offshore sleepover sofa to our healthcare furniture collection," said Stan Gray, VP of Healthcare at Carolina. "This innovative piece is more than just a sofa; it's a thoughtfully designed solution that addresses the multifaceted needs of hospital visitors. By combining comfort, functionality, and durability, we believe the Offshore sleepover sofa will enhance the well-being of guests during hospital stays."

Offshore pull up table

Complementing the Offshore Sleepover Sofa is a pull-up table designed to enhance functionality and convenience for users. Its sleek design allows it to seamlessly integrate with the sofa, offering a practical solution for guests who need a surface for laptops, meals, or personal items during hospital stays.

"Offshore truly embodies Carolina's commitment to international design and functionality," said Lauren Morgan, Carolina’s Brand Manager. "By pairing it with the pull-up table, we've created a versatile solution that not only offers exceptional comfort but also enhances the usability of patient rooms. This combination allows caregivers and loved ones to have a dedicated space for work or personal items, exemplifying our dedication to enriching the healthcare environment."
