“Our new Chicago showroom is more than a space, it’s an invitation to experience the future of design,” said Hank Menke, President and CEO of OFS. “We’re thrilled to open our doors in Fulton Market, a hub of creativity and collaboration, and to share our latest introductions with the design community during Design Days.”

Designing for every moment in the care journey
The showroom features a range of spaces that reflect real moments in healthcare from welcoming waiting areas to caregiver work zones, exam rooms, and areas for healing and recovery. Visitors can explore solutions for bariatric and behavioral health, see how design supports traveling care teams, and experience a fully furnished patient suite with zones for caregivers, patients, and families. Each space is designed to show how thoughtfully designed healthcare environments can enhance comfort, improve workflows, and foster meaningful connections.

Inside a patient suite experience
Step inside the Carolina showroom and you’ll find a space that brings healthcare design to life. At the heart of the experience is a thoughtfully designed patient suite that mirrors the environment of modern care settings. This immersive space allows visitors to explore how layout, furniture, and material choices can support healing, enhance caregiver workflow, and create comfort for patients and their families. It offers a rare opportunity to experience the real impact of design in a fully realized care environment.

Carolina set to debut new products and enhancements
Design Days 2025 marks the debut of Offshore Lounge, a modular seating collection developed in collaboration with Achella Design. Explore the next generation solution of Carolina’s award-winning modular cabinetry and casework system, Mile Marker.G2. From patient suites to waiting spaces to public spaces, every detail is made to elevate care, comfort, and connection.

Introducing Offshore Lounge
The Offshore collection was developed in collaboration with Achella Design, a multidisciplinary studio based in San Diego, California. Their original concept was a multifunctional sleepover solution for patient rooms which Carolina launched in 2024. This newest expansion to Offshore encompasses lounge and tandem lounge seating and remains true to the original mission of focusing on durability, flexibility and an elevated design. With multiple configurations that support a broader range of public space applications, Offshore creates a calm and approachable presence in even the busiest spaces.

Reintroducing Mile Marker.G2
Mile Marker has been a trusted core product in healthcare for over 13 years. The goal wasn’t to reinvent it, but to evolve it. With the next generation, we focused on refining the details – cleaner lines, improved construction where needed, and expanded versatility to support healthcare and workplace environments. These thoughtful, yet subtle changes are designed to support the shift towards modular cabinetry.

“With every product and every detail, we’re designing for the moments that shape the care experience. For caregivers providing support, for families seeking comfort, and for patients on a path to healing,” said Stan Gray, VP of Healthcare at Carolina. “These showroom spaces show how intentional design can create meaningful experiences and help improve outcomes across the spectrum of care.”
