Pattern Specialist

Our Seating division is seeking a Pattern Specialist that will focus on specials and custom products. You’ll translate design concepts into accurate patterns, support custom upholstery projects, and collaborate with sewing and upholstery teams to ensure precise fit, function, and finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and modify patterns for specials and customized seating products from approved designs and engineering specifications.
• Create, adjust, and grade patterns to meet fit, comfort, and performance requirements across multiple product lines.
• Collaborate with the upholstery and sewing teams to ensure patterns are practical for production and meet quality standards.
• Use computer-aided pattern-making software and relevant tools to produce accurate patterns and documentation.
• Assist with fit sessions, fittings, and Proto/production samples as needed.

Qualifications

• Pattern Making Experience: Proven expertise in pattern development for seating, with emphasis on specials and custom products.
• Sewing Experience: Hands-on experience with industrial sewing and knowledge of fabric behavior, seam construction, and finishing techniques.
• Upholstery Experience: Familiarity with upholstery methods, materials, and performance requirements (foam, springs, fabric, leather, vinyl).
• Materials Knowledge: Understanding of textiles, foams, webbing, springs, etc. used in seating.
• Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy in measurements, tolerances, and documentation.
• Collaboration: Effective communication with design, engineering, sewing, and production teams.
