Bryan Ashley Design Engineering Manager
The Design Engineering Manager is a leader with extensive experience in Furniture Engineering and has deep technical knowledge of the tools of Engineering.
Requirements:
- Proven leadership experience managing technical or engineering teams.
- Minimum 5 years’ hands on experience in hospitality furniture engineering
- Demonstrated technical expertise with 3D drawing packages (Solid Edge, Solid Works, etc). Ability to train others, both domestically and internationally
- Demonstrated Technical expertise with Rendering tools and experience mentoring others in rendering software and techniques
- Demonstrated success in process improvement and change management in Engineering and CAD team environments.
- Extensive knowledge of furniture casework and seating construction methods.
- Proficient in standard business software; experience with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) preferred
- Experience with furniture Manufacturing materials and methods, including Wood, Metal, Stone, and finishing techniques
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Engineering and the CAD teams, including setting priorities, mentoring team members, overseeing drawing and rendering quality and technical documentation, and managing team capacity.
Own and enhance Engineering and drawing standards, technical processes, and the tools used
Represent Engineering in client discussions and in factory interactions to address product challenges and to ensure that design expectations are met
Collaborate closely with the Project Management and the Quoting teams to ensure accurate and timely technical assistance to project challenges
Drive continuous improvement across Engineering and CAD functions, acting as a change agent to streamline workflows, improve productivity, and reduce errors
Support training and development of 2D, 3D, and rendering skills across domestic and international teams
